Located at 17 Watergate, Sleaford, Rainbow Stars is a volunteer-run charity celebrating over a decade of empowering families and individuals with additional needs, including autism, ADHD, and other challenges

What They Offer

  • A welcoming Hub & multi-sensory room: Open four days a week (Mon–Wed, Fri), the space provides calming, interactive experiences tailored to all ages.

  • Diverse Sessions & Trips: From gaming, crafting, gardening, cooking, and D&D to cinema outings, goat-walking, and allotment growing – there's always something new for individuals and siblings.

  • Targeted 1:1 support: Transition sessions help families ease into the Hub environment, offering personalised care for new members.

Milestones & Community Impact

  • 10‑Year Anniversary: A celebration at the Masonic Hall highlighted their growth from a small family group to a nearly 3,000-strong network across Lincolnshire.

  • Sensory Room Launch: In June 2021, the Mayor opened the improved sensory room following a £25k grant from Moy Park, featuring bubble tubes, interactive floors, laser walls and more.

  • Creative Fundraisers: Events like the "Chocolate Bingo" drew families and supporters alike, ensuring ongoing funding for sessions and facilities.

  • Allotment Project: An allotment at Sleaford Station, adopted by Rainbow Stars, supports wellbeing and life-skills education through growing, harvesting and cooking produce.

  • Recognition & Awards: Voted the Health & Wellbeing winner in the North Kesteven awards, the charity supports around 1,500 families with play meets, social events, care packages during lockdown, and more.

  • High-level Endorsement: Named as a mayoral charity partner for 2024/25, gaining exposure and funding opportunities at civic events.
